What to know about building a new home in Stamford
Stamford's zoning is highly localized — FAR, lot coverage, setbacks, and height limits differ from a Shippan waterfront parcel to a North Stamford acre-plus lot, and P&Z review sets the buildable envelope before design is final. On Shippan and the shoreline, flood elevation, FEMA, and coastal requirements add raised foundations and stricter codes; in North Stamford, some lots need well and septic design and health-district approval.
Teardown rebuilds are common across Springdale, Glenbrook, and the older interior neighborhoods, which brings demolition, utility disconnects and reconnections, and a design scaled to an established street. Omega did two jobs for us and we are so pleased with the results. They have skilled workers who complete whatever you ask while keeping the rest of the home and their work area as clean as possible. They replaced sheet rock and repainted a ceiling in one room, then did a tile demo and wall/tile install in another bathroom. Very timely — they'd arrive early to get started as soon as they could.
