Home Additions in Weston, Connecticut
Weston's large, private lots are ideal for the kind of addition many families are looking for now: an in-law suite or accessory dwelling unit for aging parents, adult children, or a home office with its own entrance. Connecticut's statewide ADU law has made these more feasible, though how they're permitted still depends on Weston's own zoning. Omega Development has built discreet, high-quality in-law and suite additions across Weston for more than 20 years.
The defining constraint in Weston is that the entire town is on private wells and septic — there is no public water or sewer. An addition that adds a bedroom, a bathroom, or a full second dwelling almost always means septic expansion and health-district review, so we start there, not at the finishes. One in-house Omega crew then builds the addition from foundation to finish, and we manage the survey, zoning, permits, and inspections start to finish.
What to know about a home addition in Weston
An in-law suite or ADU is the standout Weston addition, and the two questions that decide it are zoning and septic. Connecticut's statewide ADU law provides a framework, but Weston's local zoning governs size, setbacks, and whether a separate entrance or kitchen is allowed — we confirm exactly what's permitted before design. Because every property is on septic, adding a dwelling or bedrooms requires demonstrating the system can handle the added load, often meaning septic expansion and health-district approval.
Weston's conservation setbacks and wetlands can also affect where an addition can sit on a large lot, which we check by survey up front. Cost is driven by the size and independence of the addition (a bump-out primary suite versus a full ADU with its own kitchen and bath), the septic work, and finishes — an in-law or primary-suite addition in Weston commonly runs in the low-to-mid six figures, and a full ADU varies widely, all itemized before we begin.
In-law suites and ADUs for private Weston homes
Weston's large lots and well-and-septic systems shape every addition; we plan the septic and zoning first, then build in-law suites and ADUs that give family the independence they need — with the discretion private Weston homeowners expect.
It was a pleasure working with Inacio and the Omega team! My home renovation project was not an easy or simple one, with many challenges along the way, as most construction projects tend to be. Inacio was able to navigate his way through the tough times and find solutions, ultimately leading to a stellar finished product, far exceeding expectations. What's also nice is that we've developed and continue to maintain a strong relationship even to this day. Inacio is a great person and a solid resource to have.

Inacio and his team at Omega built a stunning three-season porch for my family. There aren't enough words to say how impressed we were with his honesty, integrity, and craftsmanship. Inacio was always available and frequently came to check on the work. His team is professional and meticulous — especially the finish carpentry guys, amazing! When an issue came up, Inacio fixed it, no questions asked — truly a man of his word. I will never use anyone else. I HIGHLY recommend him!

Omega Development renovated my home's living room, hallway, two full bathrooms, and a half powder room after a water leak from the second-floor bathroom. I was amazed by Omega crew's craftsmanship and detail-oriented finishes — the work really came out great. I fully recommend them.

Omega did two jobs for us and we are so pleased with the results. They have skilled workers who complete whatever you ask while keeping the rest of the home and their work area as clean as possible. They replaced sheet rock and repainted a ceiling in one room, then did a tile demo and wall/tile install in another bathroom. Very timely — they'd arrive early to get started as soon as they could.

Fantastic experience with Omega on the renovation of my home. Inacio and his team were always there, over-communicating, and the end results are extremely high quality. It's hard to find honest, high-quality contractors today, and I'm delighted to have hired Inacio and his team — I'd recommend them highly to anyone.

The best! I cannot recommend Inacio, Rafa, and their entire team more highly. Omega Development executed a major home renovation for my family — extending our living room, a full kitchen reno, and an additional master bedroom and bath.

We have used Omega for all our needs these past few years. That has included everything from minor repairs, a full house painting (inside and out), and floor refinishing, to an addition on the third floor.

Weston Home Additions FAQ
Often yes. Connecticut's statewide ADU law provides a framework, and Weston's local zoning sets the specifics on size, setbacks, and separate entrances. We confirm what's permitted for your lot before design.
Fairfield County additions run roughly $200 to $500+ per square foot. A primary-suite or in-law addition in Weston commonly lands in the low-to-mid six figures; a full ADU with its own kitchen and bath varies more widely. You get an itemized quote after a free consultation.
Very likely. All of Weston is on private wells and septic, so adding bedrooms, a bath, or an ADU usually requires demonstrating capacity and often septic expansion with health-district approval. We handle that review as part of the project.
Yes — the survey, Weston zoning review, any septic and health-district approval, building permits, and inspections through to sign-off, all in-house.
